P90X-21 Core Syn

This week is that oddball week for P90X with Yoga, core syn, kenpo, and some stretch.   Today’s schedule called for Yoga… Oh no… not happening.  OK, what’s the alternative.  Syndie thought maybe the Core Synergistic.   Selective memory had me thinking this wasn’t as intense at it turned out to be.  Generally got through it, but it wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination.   Despite that, it still beat doing Yoga!   Syndie did the good partner thing and got on me about starting to do more hamstring stretches… even if it isn’t part of the routine, just do them.   Though the thought of doing hamstring stretching doesn’t thrill me I have to admit she is right and I need to do more hamstring work.

Small group and chased the carrot

Dog gone it! Got enticed into chasing the carrot again! The wind was all over the place depending on where we were at in the loop.   On the funny side, the three of us over 50 did the extra loop and the other three under 50 turned back and did the 20 mile option.  Only funny because one of them was talking smack about broke down old guys a couple weeks back.  :D   The other two were just smarter than me.  :D   Definitely burned some juice on this ride.

P90X-19 Legs Back AbX

Have to smile.  Both Syndie and I were bemoaning the fact we had legs and back today.  Yet we both agreed that we needed to do the routine.  As with our last workout, once we got going things seemed to come together and for the second workout in a row I believe we could legitimately say that we did "Bring it!"  Syndie’s son joined us for a couple minutes but I think mom was embarrassing him by how bad she was taking him to school.  Kind of funny.  :)   Got through ALL of AbX

P90X-17 Shoulders Arms AbX

Absolutely senselessness at work today, and utterly frustrating, so there was plenty of stress to burn.  I was totally wiped out as well, but I knew I would feel better after a workout.   I just didn’t know that once I got going I would be up to actually "Bringing it!" for a change.  Upped the weight on a bunch of sets and smoked a couple of the max rep exercises as swell.  Syndie was working out with me on Face time.  At first it was more like family night, introducing my wife and granddaughter.  Syndie’s family was shooting back and fourth and saying "Hello!" and "Hi!" as they went about their business.  After that we buckled down. Syndie must have been on a mission to make me turn in my man card because she was slinging weight like crazy.  I had too increase the weight!  Really good workout and I’m glad Syndie was there to push me.  Thanks Syndie!  :D

Hit is good and hard tonight.   Third week and I am starting to get the numbers dialed in again.   This means I hit muscle failure by the end.  whew!   Good to have Syndie, my partner in pain there.  Misery loves company.

Riding with Chris G.

It’s fun to have sweat365 friends stop by for a ride. I think it helps give a little perspective to what the "other guy" is talking about sometimes. These aren’t the hardest, prettiest, or longest rides by a long shot.  The hills aren’t the longest, or the steepest, but they do have their moments and over the course of the ride can take their toll a rider.   I think Chris did pretty darn well for having only been on a trainer all winter.

P90X-12 Legs back AbX

A tad warm in Georgia today.  Syndie asked to do the workout early as she had a concert date with her daughter.  I didn’t want to do it tomorrow as I have plans for a ride with Chris Garvey when he rolls into town tomorrow.  A ride and leg workout in P90X in the same day would be excess I think.   At any rate, we did it, and I was a soupy mess at the end.  Did OK on the pullups, but I didn’t do anything heroic otherwise.   We both gave Tony "feedback" throughout the DVD, but he didn’t seem very affected.  :)  It was a good partnership workout.

Small group after work

Really nice day. About 8 miles into the ride one of the guys instigated adding an extra ten miles by doing the backside loop as well. Some good riding and lots of sharing on the pulls. Worked out well.

P90x-10 Shoulders Arms AbX

Very good workout today with Syndie on Face Time. I had gone out to eat at a buffet and was a tad gassy at the beginning, but it settled down after a bit.   We both went after it pretty hard today and I know I upped weight on a few getting right back to where I left off from the last go around.  Syndie is no slouch and slings a fair amount of weight around herself.  She works hard and I she is a great workout partner and motivator.  I suffered a wifi outage during AbX.  Reset my cable modem and it all came back.  I only missed a couple sets and just picked up wherever Syndie was at.

P90X-8 on day 9 Chest Back

Syndie and I had to put off this workout from yesterday but pulled it off today.   Still somethings I have to watch out for… diamond pushups is one of those things.  Modified with hands further apart to lessen strain on the shoulder.   In the end of it all it felt good to have pumped out the reps I did.  Sweaty mess at the end.
