Crappy nights sleep did not help me with this less than favorite workout.   Still pushed through it fairly well, but it thoroughly trashed me.  The AbX part went OK for me… I did a few masons..

Tuesday spin… Sorta.

I finally got to compare the little bike computer with my garmin for speed.   The are close enough that I think the computer is right.   So, either I’ve lost my mojo and really have gotten slow as crap, or I have a hill trainer.   lol.    No matter.   I’ll just keep crankin’ on this stupid thing and we’ll find out when I get a chance to get out on the road again.  Good spin with my gal-pal  (her term) Syndie.  At least it was warmer this morning.   I don’t like being cold.

TGIF spin

This has been a week of missed workouts.   Syndie will say it’s her fault.  Truly, if I’d really been gung ho I would have done some stuff on my own, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do that.   I was glad to get out there this morning though and knock down a few minutes of spinning while gabbing with my pal Syndie.  I wish I had some amazing speeds to report, but no, not so much.   Still, I worked plenty hard at this and the quads were shot by the end.  A much needed spin.

P90X-10 Shoulders Arms AbX

Another chilly morning in the garage.   I actually had a space heater pointed toward the mat from behind to offset the cold emanating from the garage door.  That worked well.   I took it easy with the weight as it is entirely too easy to pull something when you are cold.  Instead I worked on the negatives with the lifts.   Lift up and lower it down vs just let it fall.  Syndie had reminded me of this before so it’s what I did today and it worked well as I was burning at the end of the sets.   Got through all the reps for AbX but it will be an adventure for a few more sessions.  Even so, I did 30 obliques today, so I’m hopeful it will be business as usual before long.   :D   There were a few fun goofy moments today which just reinforces my thankfulness at having Jim and Syndie on the other end of Facetime hanging out with me while I do this.   Thanks guys.  :D

P90X-8 Chest Back AbX

As Syndie mentioned, I was not around for Friday’s workout due to oral surgery that day.   I didn’t do any workouts over the weekend either.  Thankfully it was a holiday and I got to sleep in an extra hour or I would have been really hurting.   Well, actually I was hurting anyway, but it would have been worse.   It was pretty chilly in the garage… less than 50°, but once I got all warmed up I was able to tolerate it.   I did put up a pull-up bar in my garage over the weekend.  It is hanging from wires, so it feels a little different than pulling up on a solid fixed bar.  It will take some getting used to.   It will be a bit before I’m completely back into AbX, but I got through it all.

Thursday spin test

OK… I have maintained that my trainer feels like I’m riding up a 2 or 3% grade… Now today I pull a 14.6 avg for the ride per the bike computer I got.   The setup is pretty straight forward, so I think I got it right.   This is the toughest 14.6 I have pulled since I first started riding road bike regularly.  The only thing I can do right now is hope for a good day that I can ride outside to compare the little wired computer to the Garmin and see if they are even close.  If they are not, then I jacked up the setup on the bike computer, if they are relatively close, then I have one mean ass trainer on my hands.

P90X-3 Shouders Arms AbX

Second day of this round and the second of dealing with weight for a couple months.  Made very sure not to go crazy with too much weight (for me) but kept it to where I was working good an hard.  Syndie and I monitored each other regarding that and I think we were successful in not pulling anything too bad.  AbX… man my quads were BURNING after those first three exercises… Syndie points out that the fact it might have something to do with the fact I don’t take a break between the different exercises, but do them straight through.   OK… …   Good hard workout.

Spin and grin

I enjoy riding and chatting much better than TV or just spinning silent.   It’s not all blabbing though.   We go after it hard enough that my flippin’ tongue must be hanging out sometimes.   Then I back off a little and we chat a little while I get my breath back.   Then it’s on to another push.   The garage was pretty chilly this morning so there wasn’t much in the way of puddles on the floor, but I had started dripping sweat into my glasses.   Good spin.
